2018 FIFA World Cup
The 2018 FIFA World Cup starts today and will be on for the next month.
This competition brings together 32 countries to play in Russia. 32 different cultures, mingling, rooting for their teams and having a good time. While the whole world is watching, 352 players will be on the field defending their colors.
Soccer´s showpiece event features 32 teams, including holders Germany, competing in 64 games over 32 days. This is the 21st edition. It will be played out in 12 stadiums, across 11 cities, spread over 1,800 miles. The month-long tournament is expected to attract one and a half million fans to Russia. Estimated global television audience is over three billion viewers.
One thing that can be said without a doubt about the World Cup is how it unites people more than separating them. Soccer brings people together, even though in different teams. Passion for it can be found across the globe in all continents.
