Carlos A. Rodriguez

Family Immigration & Deportation Attorney

Carlos A. Rodriguez Jr. manages the removal defense practice at Weinstock Immigration Lawyers. Carlos’ practice is broad based and includes family-based immigration, immigration consequence of criminal offense, and asylum. He has extensive experience with individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), individuals seeking protection at the U.S.-Mexico Border, and obtaining relief despite having a criminal record. He also regularly assists with individuals seeking to immigration to the U.S. to be reunited with their U.S. family members. Carlos works extensively with the U.S. State Department to obtain family visas for individuals outside of the U.S. He also works with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office to obtain family visas, humanitarian visas such as victims of crime (U-Visa), victims of human trafficking visas (T-Visa), victims of domestic abuse visas (VAWA), and for naturalization applications. Carlos regularly attends appointments with his clients at USCIS.

Prior to joining Weinstock Immigration Lawyers in February of 2021, Carlos was an Assistant District Attorney in Bexar County, Texas, where he ensured a fair prosecution of juvenile delinquency. Carlos was responsible for working with the Bexar County Juvenile Probation Department to balance the interest of victims while ensuring the juveniles received adequate services to ensure their rehabilitation as productive members in the community. Carlos regularly worked with various police departments and district courts to ensure an efficient prosecution of his cases.

Carlos has practiced immigration law since 2017 and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. From August 2018 to January 2020, Carlos worked with the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) assisting immigrants arriving at the southern border of Texas and Mexico. Carlos worked daily with ICE to ensure the prompt release of his clients, many of which were family units with children as young as 3 months old, from immigration detention. During his time assisting detained families in South Texas, Carlos worked with various organization to reunite parents separated from their children following President Trump’s “Zero Tolerance” policy.

Carlos is a native English and Spanish speaker. He grew up along the southern border of Texas and Mexico. Carlos’ parents and extended family all immigrated to the United States, giving him a special understanding for his client’s experience with the U.S. immigration system. Carlos holds a special appreciate for those seeking asylum and protection in the United States. Living along the border, seeing the harm and fear of his family members in Mexico due to the cartels, and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in a heavy Hispanic region of the U.S., Carlos understands the fear and motive for individuals to flee their home country and migrate to the U.S. Carlos tries to honor his family and the struggle of his community by providing a passionate representation of his clients. During the early part of her career, Lisa worked in Dallas-Fort Worth where she spent nearly half a decade representing a Fortune 500 company in all its business immigration needs. Prior to joining Weinstock Immigration Lawyers, Lisa worked in both large and small firms where she managed victim’s visas and family-based visas departments.

Business Immigration Legal Specialist

Vered Hod is a case manager and legal specialist at Weinstock Immigration Lawyers, specializing in complex employment-based non-immigrant visas, including H-1B, L-1, E and J visas, including J visa waivers. She has been working in immigration law with our team since 2008. Vered is very knowledgeable about our technology and engineering cases because she has both a technology and legal background, which is a rare find.

Born and raised in Israel, she received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Technion, the top scientific school in Israel (equivalent to MIT in the U.S.). Later on, she completed her law degree in Israel and immigrated to the U.S. with her family. Vered assists with employment based non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications as well as with family-based immigration. Her scientific background and strong business acumen combined with her legal education makes her especially qualified to handle business immigration needs. She also assists our attorneys with family immigration cases.

Before joining what is now Weinstock Immigration Lawyers, Vered practiced civil and commercial law in Israel. She is fluent in Hebrew and English.

Alina Cox is a case manager in Weinstock Immigration Lawyers employment-based practice. She assists our immigration attorneys with employment-based temporary visas such as H-1B, E and L visa, as well as PERM and employment-based green cards. She was born and raised in Romania. Alina fluently speaks English, Romanian, Spanish and French. She moved to the U.S. in 2008 after graduating from Law School in Universitatea Crestina Dimitrie Cantemir in Romania. She received her U.S. paralegal certificate in 2010 and after working in the bankruptcy field she decided to pursue her passion to work with international clientele and help other immigrants like her.

Prior to joining Weinstock Immigration Lawyers, she worked for 3 years as a paralegal for one of Atlanta’s largest law firms, where she gained experience with employment-based non-immigrant visas, PERMs and green card petitions. She joined our firm in order to be able to work more closely with clients and offer a more personalized service.

Alina’s personal journey to the U.S., which ended in her becoming an American citizen, and firsthand experience with the immigration bureaucracy that separated her from her husband for a year, allows her to relate to the clients she assists in a very genuine way. Alina also assists with some family-based petitions, naturalization and other immigration cases.

Maricarmen Rodriguez is a family immigration paralegal at Weinstock Immigration Lawyers. She was born in the U.S. to immigrant parents from Mexico who went through the immigration process. She understands the honor in helping all people attain their desired immigration status and the importance in having clients feel that she truly cares about their case.

Maricarmen understands how connected we are as people, whether through language, culture, goals, dreams, and others.  She has a degree in Applied Linguistics and a minor in Middle East Studies from Georgia State University. Prior to joining Weinstock Immigration Lawyers, she worked for 2 years in the Immigration Department at the Latin American Association, the region’s leading agency representing Georgia Latino issues.

  • Vanessa is the receptionist and one of the legal assistants at Weinstock Immigration Lawyers. She was born and raised in Alpharetta, GA by immigrant parents who are from Mexico.  Her parents had to go through the immigration process, so she understands how difficult and confusing it may be. With this experience, she wants to help others understand the complexities of immigration law and assure them that they are not alone in this process.

    Vanessa is currently a student at Georgia State University majoring in criminal justice. By obtaining her degree, she hopes to expand her knowledge and understanding of the immigration process in order to fully help our clients with their American journey.

Suzanne Hall is the Office Manager at Weinstock Immigration Lawyers. She is originally from Ohio and has been living in Georgia since 1987.

Because of Suzanne’s experience, running her own business for 21 years, she has 25 years of experience orchestrating, overseeing, and supporting physicians, personnel, operations, and initiatives at practices and departments to ensure the provision of world-class care.
